SFA PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENTS RECAPTURING HISTORIC VIEWS OF NACOGDOCHES
The city of Nacogdoches, Texas, dates all the way back to the 1700s and is, in fact, known as the "oldest town in Texas." Intrigued by the town's past, a group of art students at SFA set out to recapture historic locations throughout the town. Using a group of old photos found at the East Texas Research Center in the Ralph W. Steen Library on the SFA campus as a guide, they attempted to pinpoint the exact positions where the pictures were originally taken and re-photographed the area to show the development of the town over the past 100 years.
