Biography
Christian H. Cutler received his M.F.A. in photography in 2006 from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He earned his B.A. in 1997 from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, TN and attended the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland in 1995. Prior to joining the Stephen F. Austin faculty and staff as Director of Galleries, Christian served as Co-Director and Registrar for Jackson Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta, GA, owned an art installation business in Georgia, served as Director’s Assistant for The Sir Elton John Photography Collection, and worked for the registrar and preparator of the Cranbrook Art Museum. /SPAN>In addition to his work as a gallery administrator, Christian taught introductory and advanced level traditional photography courses on the high school and adult community levels, and leads archival art preservation and presentation seminars, and seminars on portfolio preparation for artists. Christian is a practicing artist whose work has shown nationally and is a part of the Sir Elton John Photography Collection. He is also an avid scooterist who enjoys riding and restoring vintage Vespa motorscooters.
