Griffith Gallery will be closed Saturday, March 14, 2009, through Monday, March 23, 2009, for spring break.
Griffith Gallery, 208 Griffith Fine Arts Building, provides 134 running feet exhibition space (22 x 54' with 10' ceiling). It is across the hall from SFA's 1,000-seat Turner Auditorium, and is open on nights of performances in Turner Auditorium.
The Griffith Gallery is located in the Griffith Fine Arts building on Vista drive. Regular gallery hours are 12:30-5 pm, Tuesday-Sunday.

Ceramics Exchange: University of Dallas, Irving Comes to SFA. Ceramics students from the University of Dallas, Irving will bring their creations to Stephen F. Austin for a regional exchange of work between colleges. Opening Reception on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.

Cutting Deep Cutting Fine. Organized and curated by University of the South art professor Julie Püttgen, this traveling exhibition showcases five artists from the Swiss Scherenschnitt ("scissor cutting") tradition together with six contemporary artists working in North America. Drawing from traditional paper cutting techniques, these artists create silhouettes, dioramas, stencils, paper lacework, pop-up drawings, and complex symmetrical designs. Opening Reception Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.

SFA Graduate Student Group Show. The School of Art will celebrate the accomplishments of the current MFA and MA candidates in this exciting exhibition. Current graduate student work will be presented in a variety of media, including painting, ceramics, photography, prints, metals, sculpture and collage. Opening Reception Feb. 20 at 6 p.m.
