2014 Summer Retreat for Arts Educators

Art Educators Retreat Wordcloud

The School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University is pleased to once again invite high school, middle school, elementary, and community college art educators to our campus for the 2014 Summer Retreat for Arts Educators.

The retreat offers a unique opportunity for teachers in the arts to gather together to renew connections with processes, materials, and with fellow arts educators. The retreat takes place Sunday, June 22 to Thursday, June 26.

Resident tuition covers studio sessions, on-campus housing, breakfast and lunch during full days, and most art supplies for the studio sessions. Participants are encouraged to stay in SFA housing at the Lumberjack Lodge in order to take full advantage of the collaborative atmosphere of the retreat. Transportation to and from the retreat is the responsibility of the participant.

Commuters may attend for a reduced tuition that covers studio sessions without lodging or meals. There is no cost for local or commuter graduate students who take ART 508 (Contemporary Issues in Art Education) for course credit.

Forty participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the workshop is filled, you may request to be placed on a waiting list by faxing the paper registration form without payment to 936.468.4041. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by Friday, June 6.

Please contact Dr. Bill Nieberding by phone or e-mail for more information.
