Art Educators Retreat 2013: Renew Yourself in Art!

Art Educators Retreat Participants

Join the 2013 SFA Art Educators Retreat for community college, elementary, middle and high school art educators, taking place from Sunday, June 16–Thursday, June 20.

Resident tuition covers studio sessions, on-campus housing, meals (both on and off campus), and most art supplies for studio sessions. Commuters may attend for a reduced tuition that covers studio sessions and most art supply costs. There is no cost for commuting graduate students who take ART 508 (Practicum in Artistic Creativity) for course credit. Participants are encouraged to stay in SFA housing (participants will be housed in the Lumberjack Lodge) in order to take full advantage of this program. Transportation to and from the retreat is the responsibility of the participant.

All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by Friday, June 7. Forty participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the workshop is filled, you may request to be placed on a waiting list by faxing the paper registration form without payment to 936.468.4041.

Graduate/Undergraduate Credit

Graduate/Undergraduate Credit

The retreat may be taken as a part of the graduate course Art 508 or undergraduate 491. Prospective graduate students register by completing the Application for Admission to SFA Graduate School, and being advised by the School of Art prior to applying to the retreat. Extended hours on Sunday, June 16, and Thursday, June 20, are required along with additional online assignments. Off-campus students attending for credit will pay a $70 course fee, waiving the retreat housing and meal fee.

All SFA tuition and fees for three hours credit will apply.
